USA national team head coach Gregg Berhalter has compared Christian Pulisic with Chelsea teammate Timo Werner and insisted the winger will play more prominent role under Thomas Tuchel.
While the 22-year-old is one of the first name on the team sheet at his country, he has unfortunately not been able to cement his spot as a regular starter at Stamford Bridge.
It is largely down to his injury problems, although fierce competitions for attacking spots at Chelsea has clearly played a part as well.
Berhalter, however, insisted that coming to the Premier League was never going to be easy for Pulisic.

“Regarding Christian, I think he’s done a great job at Chelsea,” said the US boss in his press conference on Saturday.
“First, embracing the challenge of coming to terms with the Premier League.
“You see, players like [Timo] Werner who has difficulties adapting from the Bundesliga to the Premier League.
“You could see it takes a toll on players, they have to adapt — and I think he [Pulisic] has done a good job adapting.”

Berhalter also believes that with his quality, Pulisic will eventually be an important player under Tuchel.
“Now with the new manager’s coming in, he’s finding his footing again, he had a really strong weekend before he came into camp.
“And we expect him to continue to push on.
“He’s a quality player who can make the difference in the attacking third and I can see him getting more minutes as the season unfolds.”
