‘Very important week’: ‘Incredible’ player is now telling his club to sell him to Chelsea – Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Moises Caicedo is now telling Brighton to sell him to Chelsea this summer.

He took to YouTube to state that it is going to be a very big week in the transfer saga that has drawn out for the entire window so far.

The Blues have established Caicedo as their number one target to sign to strengthen their midfield this summer.

It is likely that he would start alongside Enzo Fernandez in a very impressive midfield duo that would rival any side in the league.

The Seagull was described last season as ‘incredible’ by teammate Adam Lallana for his very strong campaign that saw him named their player of the season.

The Ecuador International was yesterday not with the rest of his current squad, and Romano has claimed that he is personally pushing for a move now.

Caicedo pushing for Chelsea move

He said: “Important day for the Moises Caicedo deal. I always told you that this deal is on, Chelsea are negotiating, Chelsea are working on that. The deal was never off. Chelsea were never scared of rumours of another mystery bid from other clubs, they have always been working on the Caicedo deal.

“But, today Caicedo was not with the squad in Brighton to play Rayo Vallecano. The official reason from Brighton is a little hamstring problem. I can say, from what I’m getting from Caicedo’s side, those close to the player, the message is different. Moises Caicedo wants to leave the club.

“Brighton mention that Chelsea have to improve their bid. £80m is not enough to make it happen. It’s going to be a very important week to see what will happen with Caicedo. The player is now pushing.”

It is unlikely either way that Caicedo will be in the squad for the first league game of the season against Liverpool on Sunday.

However, the move should be seen by the club as the number one priority before the window closes.
