Lewis Hall made a mockery of Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta with an audacious piece of skill in training.

The club cameras captured the moment Hall sent his skipper for a hotdog on the Cobham fields.

The 18-year-old initially demonstrated his excellent defensive abilities by taking the ball off his teammate’s toes as he dribbled towards him.

Hall was then hassled into a corner by Azpilicueta and another Chelsea player, as they appeared to trap the young defender.

Yet, the teenager somehow managed to escape the attentions of his two opponents by spinning away into the green grass.

Not content with merely embarrassing Azpilicueta, Hall than drove forward and pinged a pass out wide.

We can only assume it landed perfectly at the feet of a teammate, such is the composure and quality of the academy graduate.

Lewis Hall happy at Chelsea

This scene of trickery, talent and tenacity was delivered right under the nose of Graham Potter, as he begins plans for Chelsea’s return to competitive action.

A Premier League meeting with Bournemouth in 11 days awaits on the horizon, with a friendly against Brentford scheduled a week before.

Potter will be formulating an idea of what team to name, as he puts his players through their paces whilst the World Cup still rumbles on.

He nearly has all of his senior stars back at Cobham, along with a handful of those who have been out injured.

Several of the Under-21s have also been rubbing shoulders with the first-team.

None more so than Hall, who has continued to impress every time Potter has picked him.

Could a start be on the cards versus Bournemouth? Continue in this form, and the answer should be yes.
