David Datro Fofana has not taken long to impress his new Chelsea employers.

Fofana’s £10m move from Molde was officially confirmed by the club today, and the striker got stuck straight away into training.

Chelsea’s cameras caught the 20-year-old being put through his paces on the Cobham pitches, as Graham Potter and his team got a first proper look at their latest recruit.

He was able to demonstrate the reason Todd Boehly signed him in the first place: to score goals.

The attacker took part in a shooting drill where he is played through by Jorginho and must execute his effort first time.

His second strike earned the approval of Anthony Barry, one of Potter’s right-hand men.

‘Finish David’ said Barry after Fofana stroked the ball into the net.

Jorginho also received praise from the Chelsea coach, the Italian lauded twice for his passes.

The midfielder and Fofana might be able to put their practice into a real-life situation tomorrow afternoon.

Potter faces Pep Guardiola for a third time this season on Sunday, with his side travelling to Manchester City for an enticing FA Cup third round showdown.

It was only Thursday when the two Premier League giants met at Stamford Bridge, a fixture that ended 1-0 to City.

Chelsea will of course be looking for cup revenge after being dumped out of the Carabao Cup earlier in the campaign by Guardiola’s men.

Boehly might be able to see three of his new signings in action.

Along with Fofana, Andrey Santos and Benoit Badiashile were also unveiled by the Blues earlier today.
