While Chelsea were finally able to win a game after beating Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup last night, co-owner Behdad Eghbali still did not look to be in the best of moods.
He was asked by Sky Sports reporter Gary Cotterill after the match if he was happy with the result but refused to respond to the question, with the encounter being shared by Football Daily.
It has been a poor start to the season for Chelsea, who have taken just five points from their first six Premier League games and currently sit 14th in the table.
However, having just eliminated Brighton from the Carabao Cup to set up another home tie with Blackburn Rovers in the fourth round, it looks like Mauricio Pochettino’s men could go far in the competition this term.

Chelsea have not won the League Cup since 2015, but they have been to two finals since then, losing against Manchester City in 2019 and Liverpool in 2022.
Chelsea owners need Premier League form to improve
Eghbali and Todd Boehly will only truly be happy when Chelsea start to win games in the Premier League.
Having invested so much money into the squad, that is what is really going to matter, not the Carabao Cup.

Nevertheless, it was still important for the Blues to win last night. They were on a bad run and there has been so much negativity surrounding Stamford Bridge, which is understandable.
It should give Pochettino’s men a much-needed confidence boost and hopefully they can use it on Monday when they take on Fulham in the west London derby. Win that and Chelsea could really kick-start their season.
