Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Chelsea as a whole are all improving.
Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke recently highlighted the impact of the two and how the pair and Chelsea are getting better in his Talking Tactics column for the Premier League’s official website.
Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher both started in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Clarke’s old side, with the former managing to get his name on the scoresheet.
It was a game that saw Palmer start as a false 9, and the 21-year-old recently shared that Mauricio Pochettino only told him a day before the match that he would be playing there.

Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Chelsea all improving
Clarke has been impressed with what he has seen from Palmer, Gallagher and Chelsea of late.
In his Talking Tactics column on the Premier League’s official website, he wrote: “There has been a visible improvement in Chelsea’s play during October, having scored eight goals in their last three matches.
“At the heart of that upturn in form are Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher, who have both elevated performance levels with their combined industry and quality on the ball.”
Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher undroppable
Right now, Palmer and Gallagher are two of the first names on the team sheet. Chelsea have another London derby against Brentford on Saturday and you would not expect either player to be dropped.
However, they need to stay on their toes, as this is a Chelsea squad with a lot of quality.
Once Christopher Nkunku is fit again, at least one of Palmer or Gallagher could find themselves in danger.

The return of Romeo Lavia could also be a problem for the latter. If he wants to stay in the team and remain at Chelsea, then he cannot afford to let his performance levels drop.
Nkunku and Lavia’s returns are not imminent, though. The likes of Palmer and Gallagher have a bit of breathing space, but now is not the time for them to get complacent and sloppy.
Chelsea have a lot of work to do in the race for Champions League football so need everyone at the top of their game.
