Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu was in action on Tuesday night in a World Cup qualifier – and some Wales fans on Twitter were amazed by his performance for them.
Ampadu, 20, starred in a 1-0 victory for Wales against Czech Republic, as Manchester United’s Daniel James scored the winner.
The 20-year-old is a Blues-owned talent that has had a taste of senior action at Stamford Bridge, but he was sent out on loan this season to continue his development.
He joined Premier League rivals Sheffield United, who are staring relegation from the division straight in the face.

Ampadu, who has the versatility to play as a centre-back or a central midfielder, lined up in the middle of the park for Wales against the Czech Republic.
He’s someone that is combative with his tackling and plays with real aggression on the pitch. It looks like he takes his game up a level when wearing the Wales shirt.
A selection of Wales supporters on social media were delighted with Ampadu’s display, with some even tipping him to be a future captain.
He’s still at the very early stages of his career, but is playing on the top level, and it’ll be intriguing to see what Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel decides to do with him next season.
