Richards Keys has suggested that Premier League club Everton should target Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga in next summer’s transfer window.
Kepa, who’s the number two goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge, is having a decent campaign.
The 27-year-old’s the understudy to Blues teammate Edouard Mendy, but he’s performed superbly when given the chance in-between the sticks. Antonio Ruddier recently said he’s did an “outstanding job” replacing Mendy while the latter was at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He’s kept seven clean sheets in 13 games across all competitions so far this season, albeit he’s only featured four times in the Premier League.
Pundit Keys claims that Merseyside giants Everton should consider targeting the Chelsea shot-stopper, who he feels would be an upgrade on their current number one Jordan Pickford.
“It’s too late this season – but what chance Lampard goes back to Chelsea for Kepa? I would. I know Lampard didn’t fancy him at The Bridge, but he’s better than Pickford, Henderson or any other option you can think of that’s available right now. He’s also too good to be No2 at Chelsea. Lampard knows him. Watch this space,” Keys wrote in his blog.

Deserves future away from Chelsea
Chelsea are in a luxury position now where they’ve got two quality goalkeepers that are both playing with great confidence.
Kepa’s career at Stamford Bridge has seen him under real scrutiny at times, so it’s great to see him recapturing some of his best form.
Of course, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel would surely love for this to continue.
However, Spanish goalkeeper Kepa should be looking to nail down a permanent starting spot in a team at the age of 27.
The last year has done a lot to help rebuild his reputation, which is why it’ll be interesting to see if any Premier League rivals do fancy taking a punt on him for next season.
