Chelsea supporters were over the moon to see Thiago Silva back in training yesterday.

It’s not often they’ve been able to see their Brazilian centre-back out on the grass at Cobham recently.

A cycle of injuries have kept him out for nearly two months, but Silva posted a few pictures on his social media of him in full flight with his Blues teammates.

Here’s how Chelsea fans reacted to the 36-year-old’s latest update.

Silva hasn’t featured since hobbling off against Tottenham Hotspur in early February.

There have been signs of a return to first-team action, yet more set-backs have halted his recovery.

His latest post makes for much more positive viewing and could be a massive boost for Chelsea towards the campaign’s conclusion.

Thomas Tuchel’s team have not been damaged by Silva’s absence.

They have conceded just twice in the 11 games following the £110,000-a-week (Spotrac) defender’s omission at Spurs.

However, his experience and leadership could be huge between now and the season’s finale.

The Blues play Porto in the Champions League quarter-final, Manchester City in an FA Cup semi-final, West Ham United away in the league and Arsenal and Leicester City at home before the end of May.

All will be huge tests for Tuchel’s side and ones that Silva could have a massive impact on.
