Sky Sports last night issued a big update regarding the injury suffered by Mykhailo Mudryk during Chelsea’s win over Fulham.
They claimed during the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast that the Blues are now hopeful that the issue is not too serious, despite him needing to be replaced.
Last night did feel like a massive moment for Mudryk as an individual, as he found the net for the first time as a Chelsea player.
He darted in behind to get on the end of a fabulous Levi Colwill pass, before calmly finishing past Bernd Leno.
The goal was a culmination of multiple positive appearances in a row now for the Ukraine international, with him finally looking as if he is starting to look like a dangerous asset.
Mudryk injury update
There was a fear that this was all going to be in vein though, as he didn’t emerge for the second half. He was replaced by Ian Maatsen, who came very close to his own first Chelsea goal.
However, Sky Sports updated viewers last night late in the day to say that the injury was not thought to be too serious.
They said: “We’re told a slight injury at the top of his thigh but Chelsea don’t expect it to be too serious, so fingers crossed on that.”
It would be Chelsea’s luck at the minute unfortunately to see one of their form players drop to an injury, and they may not be out of the woods even if Mudryk is okay.
Moises Caicedo left the pitch in pain, whilst Armando Broja also looked in discomfort after making his first start in nearly nine months.
