Wesley Fofana has posted a farewell message on social media after Chelsea confirmed the sale of another player this week.
The summer transfer window closed for most of the world’s top leagues on 30 August, but the deadline has been a bit later for some others. In fact, Chelsea have trimmed down their squad even further with another sale this week.
Unfortunately, the Blues haven’t managed to get everybody they wanted off the books in one summer. For example, The Athletic reports that Chelsea have genuine regret they’ve not moved on Ben Chilwell.

Wesley Fofana posts goodbye message to Angelo Gabriel
Chelsea confirmed this week that Angelo Gabriel has now completed a permanent transfer to Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.
The 19-year-old winger was with the travelling squad this summer for Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States, but he was eventually exiled from Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad like so many other individuals.
Blues defender Wesley Fofana, 23, has now reacted on his Instagram story to Angelo’s sale.
Fofana wrote: “Aall the best enjoy lil bro.”
Chelsea make profit on Brazilian teenager
Chelsea signed Angelo from Brazilian outfit Santos back in the summer of 2023. Afterwards, the young attacker spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan, where he showed glimpses of quality for French side Strasbourg.
BBC Sport claims that Chelsea have now sold Angelo to Al-Nassr for £19.1m, making a tidy profit on the £13m fee he cost a year ago.
The South American talent never made his competitive debut for the Blues, despite some minutes in pre-season, so selling him on for a profit isn’t the worst piece of business.
He was playing for Strasbourg last season, where he managed four assists in 25 games across all competitions. Now, he’s teammates with football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in Al-Nassr colours.
