Alejandro Garnacho has divided opinion following his move from Manchester United to Chelsea this summer. However, Blues defender Wesley Fofana has spoken very positively about his new teammate’s start to life at Stamford Bridge.

It surprised plenty of people when Chelsea completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho for £40m from Man Utd.

At the age of 21, the Argentine winger already has a lot of experience on the top level, playing 144 first-team matches at Old Trafford. Can he now fulfil his quite obvious potential in London?

Even though Garnacho still has to win over some Chelsea supporters, he’s another exciting option to compete in the wide area of the pitch.

Wesley Fofana hails Alejandro Garnacho arrival

Chelsea star Wesley Fofana has suggested that Garnacho has slotted into the group behind the scenes pretty effortlessly.

When asked how Garnacho has been since he joined Chelsea, Fofana said via Chelsea’s YouTube channel: “He’s good. Everyone is happy because he’s a top player. He helped the team for sure. And yeah, the group is very good. We are all friends. We are close to the same age, and he’s good, and we’re happy he’s here.”

Blues vice-captain Enzo Fernandez has helped Garnacho settle into life at a new club as a fellow Argentine. It must help him that he’s integrated into a group full of so many other young players, too.

The Argentine star will take a huge amount of pressure off his shoulders once he scores his first goal at his new club.

Garnacho has been told he must deliver at Chelsea by Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni, so he’s got an extra individual incentive ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Alejandro Garnacho’s record vs Brighton

On Saturday afternoon, Chelsea host Brighton in an important Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge. Will Garnacho be handed his first league start of the season, though?

The left-winger actually has a horrid record against the Seagulls from his time in Manchester.

It feels like the left wing spot is very much still up for grabs right now in the Blues squad because Enzo Maresca has so many different options. If Garnacho can find his best form, he’s got the kind of goal threat that makes him a very tempting automatic starter.
