Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher exited the club in the summer to join West Brom on a season-long loan – and he’s earned huge plaudits for his latest performance for them.
After impressing last season during loan spells in the Championship, the 20-year-old Blues academy star linked up with West Brom and is tasked with trying to keep them in the top-flight.
Gallagher started during West Brom’s 2-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon away to Newcastle United and he was unable to prevent a defeat.
The all-action central midfielder looked like he covered every blade of grass with his industrious running and he looked great in glimpses trying to push further up the pitch into attacking positions.
He had scored in back-to-back games before the Newcastle trip, with his influence on his side appearing to grow every week.
A selection of West Brom supporters on social media were raving about Gallagher’s display against Newcastle despite their team’s defeat.
They were frustrated about the decision to take him off in the 80th minute and senior Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will surely have a close eye on his performances, as the signs are he could carve out a future at Stamford Bridge.
