West Ham’s Edson Alvarez has admitted that he’s a big fan of Chelsea duo Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo as he prepares to face them on Sunday.
West Ham and Chelsea lock horns tomorrow afternoon at the London Stadium in a Premier League fixture.
Interestingly, both clubs have been going through a big rebuild in midfield during the summer window.
For West Ham, Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse have arrived in the centre of the park to replace Declan Rice. As for Chelsea, they’ve welcomed midfield duo Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Stamford Bridge this week.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s game between West Ham and Chelsea, Alvarez namedropped Chelsea’s Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez as players he can’t wait to come up against.
The £35million (BBC) Hammers star is a big admirer of both Blues midfielders:
“Both of them are very good players. Enzo has been there a few months and Moises has just joined, but I know them because they are both Latinos,” Alvarez told West Ham’s official club website.
“They are amazing players and it will be amazing to play against them. It will be a good challenge and a good test for me, and the whole team too.”

Fernandez looks a nailed-on starter in any Chelsea team right now, impressing in the opener against Liverpool with a superb box-to-box midfield performance.
We’re uncertain on whether Caicedo will be thrown straight into the XI after only arriving from Brighton earlier in the week, but we’ve got big hopes for what he can do at the club.
In fairness, expectation should be high on a Fernandez-Caicedo partnership in the middle when you consider they each cost over £100million. Let’s hope we get to see it in action for the first time tomorrow at West Ham.
