Tammy Abraham posted a five-word message on Instagram to Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger after his weekend performance.

Chelsea’s impressive start to the new season continued on Sunday by winning 3-0 away to London rivals Spurs in the Premier League.

It means Thomas Tuchel’s side are top of the league table, with Liverpool and Manchester United also sitting on 13 points after five games.

Rudiger has played every minute of the league campaign so far and is an ever-present in the starting XI.

The centre-back’s defensive performances are receiving rave reviews, but he also made the headlines for his actions in the other box on Sunday. He produced some excellent movement before firing in a rare Blues goal past Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Ex-Chelsea and current Roma forward Abraham sent a message to £100,000-a-week man Rudiger on social media:

Antonio Rudiger in form of his life

Spectacular.

Yes, that’s one of the numerous adjectives to describe how good Rudiger has been since Tuchel walked through the door as manager in January. You’d have a hard job finding a centre-half that’s performed as well as him in 2021.

The 28-year-old German is a powerhouse defender who strikes up the perfect balance between aggression and composure to be so reliable at the back.

Tuchel has stamped out the rashness in his game, so he’s now one of the first names on the team sheet.

Chelsea’s defence looks like it’ll be the very bedrock of any potential title challenge they put up this season. They’ve conceded once in five league games, which was a Mohamed Salah penalty at Anfield.
