Journalist Simon Johnson has claimed that Chelsea fans were in fine voice during the first half of last night’s victory at Stamford Bridge.
He took to Twitter to state that the home supporters could be heard singing a song dedicated to Benoit Badiashile after he made his return to action against Blackburn.
Goals from Badiashile and Raheem Sterling either side of half-time saw the Blues book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

They certainly didn’t make it look easy throughout, with their lower-league opposition bringing a number of challenges across the 90 minutes.
However, it was some strong individual displays, none more so than from Cole Palmer, that got the Blues over the line.
The main highlight of the evening was seeing a number of players who have suffered from injuries this season return to the pitch from the start.
Captain Reece James got his first start since the opening day of the season against Liverpool, after his injuries and setbacks this season.
Badiashile was meanwhile making his first appearance at all this season, and certainly had the dream start when he found the net in the first half.
After he scored, Johnson said it did not take long for the crowd to bring out the now legendary chant involving the Frenchman and Todd Boehly.
He said: “Suspect the Todd Boehly chant will be heard loud and clear now.. yep.”
The chant goes: “Todd Boehly went to France, in a Lamborghini. Bought us back a centre-half, Benoit Badiashile!”
Now, the club will just be hoping that the former Monaco man will be able to maintain his fitness and become a key member of the backline for this season and beyond.
