Fernandez starred in our player ratings for his performance in the middle of the park, and his partnership with Moises Caicedo continues to go from strength to strength.

Jason Cundy was wowed by Fernandez for what he gave the Blues, and his status as a fan favourite was only boosted as he tapped the Chelsea badge as he wheeled away celebrating.

Enzo Fernandez joins in Chelsea chant at Tottenham during 1-0 win

While some inside the ground showed frustration at Jadon Sancho for another underwhelming display, they will only be bigger fans of the World Cup winner after seeing some of his antics on the bench in the final moments.

When the game looked dead and buried in the final seconds, the usual chorus of “Tottenham get battered everywhere they go” rung out from the home fans, as reported by Sky Sports.

The TV coverage cut to Fernandez on the bench, who was nodding his head to the tune of the song, much to the dismay of his beaten opponents.

Fernandez’s Chelsea future

Due to the upturn of his performances this season, it is no surprise a number of big clubs have been linked with the signing of the midfielder this summer.

It has been reported that Argentina players have pushed for Fernandez to move to Atletico Madrid, however he has seemed to commit his future to the club.

His lengthy contract would always make it difficult for anyone to sign him from the Blues, and it looks as if he is going to remain a crucial player for years to come at Stamford Bridge.
