What inside sources are now saying about Todd Boehly’s plans as Chelsea owner

Reports have claimed that Todd Boehly is not planning to change his free-spending methods that have time as Chelsea owner.

According to Bloomberg, sources close to the owners have stated that he is considering borrowing more money in order to continue to financially invest in the club they bought just over 12 months ago.

It has been clear to see that Boehly is committed to keeping Chelsea as a superpower in football, despite results and performances on the pitch not meeting that criteria.

The American has overseen the Blues breaking their transfer record twice in the short time they have been at the club, heavily bolstering their midfield.

Enzo Fernandez came in last January off the back of a sensational World Cup campaign, meanwhile he has been joined in the middle of the park by the recent addition of Moises Caicedo.

Boehly to keep spending

The fact that the Ecuador international decided to move to Stamford Bridge despite Liverpool having a bid accepted first and a medical organised suggests that there is still a pull to playing for the club despite last season.

Despite spending close to a billion pounds on various ages of players, there is certainly still investment required for them to reach the top level.

A striker does seem to be the position most supporters want to be filled, after their issues in front of goal have become clear again.

They have scored less goals than games played in the league this season, and a true goalscorer just seems to be lacking right now.

It has been reported that they will consider a move to sign Ivan Toney in January, when he is able to return to football following his ban.
