Liam Rosenior has a big job ahead of him, with the Strasbourg manager set to replace Enzo Maresca at Chelsea.
It is being widely reported that Rosenior is close to being named the new Chelsea boss following Maresca’s departure last week.
Right now, the Blues are outside the top four, sitting three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool.

With Aston Villa 11 points above Chelsea, the Club World Cup winners could find themselves in a battle with Liverpool and Manchester United for the final Champions League spot. It is why Rosenior faces such a tough task at Stamford Bridge.

Liam Rosenior has asked for specific transfer targets to be signed in January
Rosenior may get some new players this month to help him guide Chelsea to success this season.
Sources have told journalist Simon Phillips, who has shared what they have had to say on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, that Rosenior has requested specific transfer targets to be signed in January.
Chelsea were expected to have a quiet winter, but after making a managerial change, perhaps there could be a new arrival or two to support the new manager.
The Conference League holders already have a good squad; that was clear to see after they went toe-to-toe with Manchester City over the weekend.
However, it could perhaps do with some more experience, which Rosenior could get at some point. It is thought that Chelsea want to sign a seasoned centre-back in the summer.

What Liam Rosenior needs to be a success at Chelsea
If Rosenior is to get Chelsea challenging for the Premier League title again, the club probably do need to sign another experienced centre-half.

SENSIBLE signing or WASTE of money?
As well as that, they could also do with a new striker. Liam Delap impressed against City and has potential, but Chelsea are unlikely to compete at the very top of the table until they have a consistent and prolific No.9 leading their line.
Finding that and a top centre-back in January is going to be difficult, though.
