Journalist Melissa Reddy has claimed that Moises Caicedo has been waiting in London for a transfer away from Brighton to happen.

She took to Twitter to state that he cleared out his locker five days ago as talks of a move to Chelsea carried on.

Last night proved to be a sensational one in the Caicedo story, with him looking destined for Stamford Bridge throughout the entire transfer window.

However, it was Liverpool who had a British transfer record bid accepted by the Seagulls, as they look set to confirm another huge sale.

It is currently unclear what Chelsea will do now, although the situation is very much in Liverpool’s hands after being the highest bidder.

Caicedo staying in London

Reddy has hinted though that Caicedo was more than keen for a move to West London, with him camping out in the city as he awaited his fate.

She said: “Moises Caicedo cleared his locker out five days ago at Brighton and hasn’t been back since. He’s in London (!) as he waits for a move to happen.”

Despite talk of an injury concern at the Amex, it has been clear that he has instead been pushing to leave the club.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will match what would be a club-record bid that the Reds have already made, and instead they could now move on to other targets.

One of the obvious ones is Romeo Lavia, who they have already had one bid rejected for this summer.

They have been fans of the player for more than a year now, and it would certainly not be a surprise to see him wearing Blue in the Premier League next season.
