Chelsea loanee Andrey Santos was spotted leaving Nottingham Forest’s recent 1-1 draw with Brentford early by supporters of the East Midlands club.

The Athletic reports that Forest fans saw Andrey Santos leave the substitutes’ bench well before the end of the game.

And while there may not have been any actual malice behind the midfielder’s decision to head down the tunnel, some may still start to ask questions given how his loan spell has gone so far.

Santos has not played a single minute in the Premier League yet for Forest, with his only appearance this season coming in the Carabao Cup.

Forest travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace next, where the 19-year-old will be hoping to make his first top-flight start.

Andrey Santos loan a concern

It is not a complete shock that Santos has not walked straight into Steve Cooper’s starting XI.

The Brazilian is still quite young and has not played in England before. He may need time to adapt.

That being said, it is disappointing that Santos is not even getting some minutes off the bench. That should be the bare minimum, otherwise what was the point of Forest loaning him?

To not have played a single minute of Premier League football after seven games is a worrying sign. If his situation does not improve, then Chelsea will obviously have to recall him.

Football is a strange game, though. All it could take is one chance and one good performance from the Brazil international to transform this loan spell.
