What owner Todd Boehly was actually doing while Chelsea were playing this weekend against Brentford

A video has now emerged showing what Chelsea owner Todd Boehly was up to as his side were taking part in Premier League action against Brentford.

Last season, the American had become a common sight at Stamford Bridge supporting the side he took over, however this has been far rarer for this campaign.

He has only been spotted in attendance a handful of times so far, with one of those being when the Blues were at Wembley for the EFL Cup final last month.

Despite rumours, it has been claimed that this is not as a result of a fallout with fellow big dog Behdad Eghbali, who is a more permanent fixture at both home and away games right now.

It was he who was seen across West London on Saturday watching what has become a regular up and down Chelsea performance.

Nicolas Jackson gave the Blues the lead in the first half, however they were forced to score late through Axel Disasi just to come away with a point for their efforts.

While Boehly wasn’t present, it soon became clear why. A video posted on the Daily Mail’s Twitter page shows the American present at the opening race of the Formula One season instead.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, won perhaps predictably by Max Verstappen, started at the exact same time as the 3pm kick-off in a rare Saturday race.

With a number of big faces always looking to be seen at these events, it is perhaps no surprise that an extremely successful businessman was in attendance.

While supporters may originally be aggrieved, in remains only fair to sit back and imagine where some other team’s owners were this weekend while their clubs were in action, and ask if it would be necessary for the co-owners to both be in attendance.
