Chelsea wonderkid Estevao Willian managed to make an impact in his latest outing for Palmeiras.

Estevao provided an assist for one of his side’s goals in their 2-1 win against Red Bull Bragantino on Sunday.

However, the winger and the rest of Palmeiras’ attack did struggle during parts of the game, which assistant coach Joao Martins noticed and addressed.

In general, though, Estevao continues to impress in Brazil. Earlier this month, Estevao was even compared to Lamine Yamal, which is high praise considering the 17-year-old’s impact for Barcelona and Spain.

Palmeiras assistant Joao Martins moves Estevao Willian out wide

Estevao has spent most of his Palmeiras career playing on the right flank, but he started in the middle against Bragantino.

Martins, who was managing the team with Abel Ferreira suspended, initially deployed the future Chelsea star in the No.10 role.

However, as per Estadao, after watching Estevao and the rest of Palmeiras’ attack struggle, Martins decided to shake things up and move the Brazil international back to the flank.

In the end, everything worked out for Martins after his side were able to run out as 2-1 victors. When Estevao finally arrives at Chelsea, it will certainly be interesting to see where Enzo Maresca plays him.

His agent Andre Curry has already claimed that Estevao could play as a No.10 after assurances from Chelsea. But with that being Cole Palmer’s position, it is hard to imagine that happening.

Estevao Willian’s numbers vs Red Bull Bragantino

Estevao did not mess about when it came to trying to find his teammates in the box against Bragantino.

In total, the 18-year-old made 16 crosses, with four of them being accurate. Estevao also completed three key passes, so while the Brazil player and his fellow attackers may have struggled at times during the game, there were periods when he did make things happen.
