The main news surrounding Chelsea during this international break has not been about the impact many of their first team players have had on their respective nations.

Instead, reports of a rift between Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali has dominated the headlines, with the future at the helm at Stamford Bridge being unclear.

Boehly has a 30-year vision for the future of the club, however the tension behind the scenes has made it unclear whether this will be able to be carried out or not.

Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali meeting last month about Chelsea

It is believed that if the American does assume full control of Chelsea, they need to be prepared for another overhaul of the club which could well not be what they need right now.

According to The Athletic, the two key players in this story had a meeting last month where the future of the club was spoken about.

The report goes on to say that both sides have decided they were going to explore their options, with both parties having aspirations and plans to buy out the other.

Chelsea fans backing Boehly

Chelsea fans seem to have taken the side of Boehly in this debacle, however it is fair to say that this shouldn’t be what is top of the agenda for news surrounding the club.

It is yet another distraction that manager Enzo Maresca will have to deal with in the early time of his tenure at Stamford Bridge, with him already facing a tough task of getting the best out of the squad he has.

The Blues have added plenty of attackers to their ranks this summer, with them hoping to have a squad ready to compete against any opposition.

He will have decisions to make though on how to get the best out of everyone though, and keep them all happy in the process.
