Many Chelsea fans have been worried about the direction the club is heading in, but one thing that’s just as concerning is the form of Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer has experienced the most challenging campaign of his senior career at Chelsea.
Having missed 21 matches across all competitions, the Englishman has struggled to replicate his previous world-class consistency, managing 10 goals so far this season.
That’s not all, as his lingering fitness issues and a lack of recent momentum have complicated his prospects for the 2026 World Cup in North America. Palmer faces intense pressure from in-form rivals like Morgan Gibbs-White for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
However, there is still time for Palmer to finish the season strong.

Chelsea are choosing to stand by Cole Palmer
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have continued to support Cole Palmer, with the belief that he can come back to his best at Stamford Bridge.
However, there is no denying the shocking drop in form. His most recent low point came during Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest, where he missed a penalty.
Palmer has failed to score or assist in his last five Premier League games.

And John Obi Mikel actually thinks that this drop in form from Palmer is down to the fact that he doesn’t agree with the way that Chelsea is heading under these current owners.
“You can’t say it’s because of the injuries. I just think he doesn’t like what is happening at the football club.”
