The Premier League could be about to be shaken up in a serious way as arguably the best striker in the division has asked for a move this summer.
Alexander Isak reportedly wants out of Newcastle, with Eddie Howe’s side said to be looking at alternatives should they part ways with the Sweden international in this transfer window.
They have already missed out on Hugo Ekitike, who was also a target of Chelsea earlier in this window. He is now set to be announced as a new Liverpool player.
Chelsea have been linked to Isak from a number of months ago, and knew they would need to qualify for the Champions League to stand any chance of securing his signature.

Chelsea not tipped to enter race to sign Alexander Isak
With Arsenal signing Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool’s addition of Ekitike, there may be some imagining a world where Chelsea make a move for the Swede this summer.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that despite having long-term interest in the possible addition, they have backed away from the deal as a result of Liverpool being the favourites for the deal.
He said: “Chelsea have long liked Alexander Isak, is he going to one of the options – possibly, but not from what I am hearing.
“Chelsea like Arsenal both backed away a few months ago, I am told that they were both made aware that Isak was looking elsewhere, and that is seemingly Liverpool. Since then they haven’t stepped up.”

Chelsea have two priorities for rest of transfer window
Chelsea’s interest in the rest of the summer transfer window appears to be on other positions after already bringing in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer.
The Blues have been strongly linked to Xavi Simons, who could join the first team in place of Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix who are expected to leave.
They are also keen to bring in defensive reinforcements before the end of the window, with Jorrel Hato moving to the front of the queue as far as targets are concerned.
Relations are reportedly strong between both clubs involved, and Ajax are keen on signing a youngster or two from Chelsea in exchange.
