Chelsea’s attacking spark that was on show earlier this season has taken a real hit in the second half of the campaign so far.

A combination of a drop of form and injuries has seen them drop out of the top four, and while he wasn’t scoring recently the Blues seem to have lost their ability to even create chances.

The wide attackers at the club have picked up plenty of criticism in recent weeks, with goals seeming to be a real struggle this season for anyone not named Cole Palmer.

‘Only a handful’ of Chelsea players can be confident of their future at the club

It is already known that this position is going to be strengthened in the summer. Estevao Willian will join up with the first team then, with him expected to not be loaned out upon his arrival.

The fact they were pursuing a top winger during January suggests they weren’t content with their options, and this can be said for many positions on the pitch.

The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that ‘only a handful’ of players at the club can be ‘confident’ of their futures, leaving many likely available for the right price if the right target is available.

It has already been claimed that Palmer and Moises Caicedo are amongst those crucial players who the Blues won’t consider a deal for.

The January transfer window was a sign of how they can be willing to accept offers for players who have only just joined the club. Both Renato Veiga and Joao Felix departed to Italy on loan after just six months at the club.

Chelsea eyeing Rafael Leao amid Jadon Sancho concerns

Another player who will be a permanent addition at the end of the season is Jadon Sancho, with his loan from Manchester United to be confirmed.

After an electric start to life at Stamford Bridge, things have dropped off dramatically since then. Sancho was given a 1/10 in The Chelsea Chronicle’s player ratings from the Premier League defeat to Brighton.

The Chelsea Chronicle has been told by transfer insider Graeme Bailey that the England international’s poor form has left them eyeing up a new left winger in the summer too.

He stated that Rafael Leao is a player the Blues have asked to keep informed about, and could hold the key to bringing him in with Felix.

The Portugal international has starred since making his loan move away from West London, and their interest in signing him could see them need to part ways with a key player to be able to afford him.

Leao could be the perfect makeweight as far as Chelsea are concerned, with their interest in him dating back a number of years.
