Jamie Carragher does not think Arsenal will win the Premier League title with Aaron Ramsdale, who has been linked to Chelsea, in goal.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are currently monitoring Aaron Ramsdale after Mikel Arteta’s decision to drop the goalkeeper for David Raya.

Speaking on CBS Sports on Wednesday, Carragher said: “Arsenal will never win the league with Ramsdale in goal, no chance. Ramsdale is playing for Arsenal and he can’t even get in the England team.”

Chelsea only signed a new No.1 in August, with the Blues bringing Robert Sanchez in from Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, with Ramsdale’s future now possibly in doubt, perhaps Chelsea sense an opportunity here.

Aaron Ramsdale cannot win Chelsea the league

If Ramsdale cannot win Arsenal the title, then he certainly will not be able to help Chelsea to accomplish that feat.

However, that is more to do with the current state the Blues are in, rather than the ability of the England international.

Chelsea are nowhere close to mounting a title challenge and the addition of another goalkeeper like Ramsdale will not do anything to change that.

What Mauricio Pochettino needs right now is a clinical centre-forward. His side have only managed to score five goals in the Premier League so far this season.

With a goal record like that, Chelsea can forget about top four, showing just how far they actually are from the title.

Arsenal are obviously in a much better place, so would Ramsdale even want to leave the Emirates for Stamford Bridge? Right now, probably not. But if he cannot reclaim his first-team spot, maybe it is something the former Sheffield United man considers.
