The Chelsea owners have a job on their hands to win over the Stamford Bridge faithful after the lack of direction under previous managers.
Xabi Alonso is officially set to take charge at Chelsea, with his highly anticipated tenure formally beginning when he starts work on July 1st.
Unlike his predecessors, Alonso has been granted more control over first-team football operations, giving him the final say on all summer transfer ins and outs, alongside other privileges.
However, it’s all good saying these things will happen with Alonso at the helm, but until we see it in action, it’s very hard to Chelsea fans to imagine such a change having known how things are currently being ran under the current owners.
What do you rate Chelsea’s 2026-2027 home kit 1️⃣-🔟?

Chelsea to back Xabi Alonso in the transfer market
Speaking on Hayters TV, Ben Jacobs has gone into the ins and outs of Xabi Alonso’s impending arrival at Chelsea, as well as his current feelings.
He claims that Alonso’s decision to join Chelsea was based on getting back into work, managing an elite-level club in the Premier League, being the one who gets the Chelsea project back on track and living in London.
As well as this, he is excited about the current squad and the Spaniard is enthused about the fact that Chelsea are going to back him in the transfer market.

Xabi Alonso already has a very strong squad at his disposal
Xabi Alonso is inheriting a strong foundation at Chelsea, bursting with potential and proven profiles.
The sheer depth of young talent arriving at Stamford Bridge is frightening, with Portuguese sensation Geovany Quenda, Argentine prodigy Valentin Barco, and the electric Estevao Willian already proving what a fantastic talent he is after his first season at the club.
When paired with proven players like Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, Chelsea boasts a core that just needs building out.
The missing piece of the puzzle, however, remains seasoned leadership. While this young core has the promise, executing Alonso’s demanding system requires battle-hardened experience.
