Roma striker Tammy Abraham has refused to rule out a transfer back to Chelsea in the near future.

He told FourFourTwo via RomaPress that he is currently focusing on the rest of this season with the Serie A side, however hinted he had a decision to make in the summer.

Abraham has been on the end of a mixed bag since he left Stamford Bridge to join up with Jose Mourinho in Rome.

Last season saw the 25-year-old extremely prolific in front of goal, firing the Italian club towards the Europa Conference League victory.

This year however, goals have been far harder to come by. He has just six goals in 27 league games this season, adding just one in the nine games in Europe.

Abraham says he could return to Chelsea

Talk over a potential deal have not disappeared despite the turn in form, with a report claiming that he is destined for a move back to the Premier League this summer.

Abraham himself has now claimed that there is certainly a chance he returns to Stamford Bridge in the near future.

He said: “Chelsea? football never say never. Right now, my goal and my attention is focused on Roma: we want to finish the season strong.

“I still haven’t started thinking about anything other than being here and doing my best. I’m not in a hurry. Maybe I’ll stay at Roma for the next ten years, or maybe not. You never know what’s around the corner.”

A striker will certainly be on the agenda for the club in the upcoming transfer window, as a regular goalscorer has remained hard to come by.

Whoever is in charge going into next season will have the addition of Christopher Nkunku to deal with when trying to find the best attack possible for the upcoming campaign.
