Kai Havertz and Kurt Zouma are back in training after small injuries as Chelsea prepare for Sunday’s trip to face Sheffield United.
The pair had to miss out on the 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday after Tuchel previously said the two “went off the pitch with small issues” during training sessions.
They unfortunately did not make the squad against Spurs, but have since returned to Saturday’s training ahead of Sheffield Utd clash.
As you can see from the training video below (2:00 mark), Zouma and Havertz took part in rondo and mini game sessions.
Thiago Silva is likely the only Chelsea player who will not be available for the weekend after suffering a thigh injury in the first half against Spurs.
The Brazil international has provided an update on his social media, with a caption saying: “Injuries are part of our profession, now [it’s time for] treatment and to come back stronger.”
Tuchel also said he might be considering rotation for the weekend — which is reasonable given some players have started in all of the last three games.
Based on the training footage, the Chelsea attackers had some sharp-shooting drills before the game.
Despite the overall good performances recently, Chelsea have yet to score via an attacker under Tuchel, with two defenders Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, and midfielder Jorginho the only ones getting on the scoresheet so far.
Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and Tammy Abraham looked sharp in the training, though, and perhaps they could be the first Chelsea attacker to score under the new manager.
