Several Chelsea players sent social media messages to Enzo Fernandez following his man-of-the-match performance in Saturday’s draw with West Ham.
The Blues may have dropped four points in the last two games, but if there was anything positive to take from those, it would be Fernandez’s outstanding performance in midfield.
It is simply remarkable how seamlessly the 22-year-old has slotted into the team despite only joining two weeks ago.
Perhaps, it has been simple because he was already very good at what he does; connecting the defensive and attacking lines in possession and winning the ball when out of it.
Fernandez, who registered his first assist in Chelsea colours at the weekend, wrote on Instagram: “Keep going @chelesafc.”
A number of his Chelsea teammates responded to the post.
“We got to,” wrote Noni Madueke.
Joao Felix said: “Vamooo puto [Let’s gooo, baby].
Gabriel Slonina, who was clearly impressed by Fernandez’s form, added: “Hermano, you are the wolf.”

Fernandez is expected to keep his spot in the team for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund, although it will be interesting to see who will play alongside him in midfield.
At the London Stadium, he played in a midfield pivot alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and it clearly gave him more freedom to roam compared to when he played as a number six against Fulham.
At the time, Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher played as two number eights in front of him, and while on paper this was a more offensive set-up, Chelsea looked far more fluid with Joao Felix as a lone number 10 instead.
