Ben Chilwell has praised new Chelsea teammate Wesley Fofana’s debut for the club and how quickly the centre-back adapts to the team.
Chilwell might have, deservedly, stolen the spotlight after making a huge impact as a substitute in the 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday, but it was also a big day for Fofana, who made his first appearance as a Blue.
While the young defender, who joined from Leicester City for a reported £75million fee, failed to help Chelsea to keep what could have been their only second clean sheet this season, it was certainly a positive start to his Blues career.
Well, Chilwell was clearly impressed by Fofana’s display.

“Massive kudos to Wes,” the England international told talkSPORT when asked about Fofana’s Chelsea debut.
“He’s only just come in, he’s trained with us twice.
“Then he starts [at the weekend], his first game at Stamford Bridge, it was a brilliant performance by him and many more to come.
“To come in at such a young age and gel so quickly into the group is massive.
“He’s going to have a massive future at our club. I think as well, all the boys that have come in have bought a mentality that they want to win.”

Fofana a potential long-term mainstay of Chelsea defence
The 21-year-old made three tackles and two clearances at the weekend and won seven out of his nine duels.
It was still far from being his best performance, but his presence allowed Reece James to have more freedom to operate higher up the pitch.
Thiago Silva’s absence from Chelsea’s squad for the clash against Dinamo Zagreb also means there is a good chance that Fofana will make his Champions League debut on Tuesday.
