Chelsea prospect Billy Gee has admitted he’s blown away by how good Jorginho looks as a player after seeing him in first-team training.

Gee, 17, is a youngster in the Blues academy looking to make a name for himself at Cobham.

The defensive midfielder has played in various age groups over the years for Chelsea, joining the club in his Under-8 year.

As he approaches nearly a decade at Stamford Bridge, let’s hope the London-born talent is destined for future success in the senior group.

Gee has explained that he’s been mixing it at times in first-team training.

For him, £50million Blues star Jorginho has amazed him with his individual quality.

In particular, he thinks the 31-year-old midfield star is so good with the ball at his feet.

When asked if he’s ever been star-struck by a senior player, Gee told Football Daily: “The first time I trained with the first team it was probably Jorginho. I just thought he was some serious player.

“Just his touch, how quick he plays. He gets a lot of criticism for how slow he is sometimes, but on the ball, it’s crazy.”

Some people are perhaps guilty of overlooking what a senior figure and quality operator Jorginho can be.

Yes, the Italian midfielder does divide opinion in the fanbase due to his lack of mobility. Nobody would argue he’s an exquisite technician, though.

Midfield prospects, such as Gee, would be foolish not to study how Jorginho receives the ball anywhere on the pitch and recycles possession.

GiveMeSport recently reported that Jorginho does look likely to leave soon, with his contract at the Bridge expiring at the end of the season.

However, it’s been an incredible ride for the Italian, who may still have an important role to play in the second half of this campaign.
