Joao Felix was full of praise for his Chelsea teammates despite the disappointing 1-1 draw with West Ham on Saturday.

The 23-year-old made his long-awaited return after serving a three-match suspension in the last few weeks and he did not disappoint.

There were five January signings in Chelsea’s starting line-up against West Ham, but Felix was arguably the standout performer.

The Portugal international scored the opener for the Blues and was unfortunate to not have scored more. He also created two chances in the game.

Felix said he is enjoying his football and it is partly down to having “quality” teammates at Chelsea.

“I think we did a great game and controlled the game,” the on-loan Atletico Madrid forward told BT Sport after the game (via BBC).

“They scored when we were good, but that is football. We had chances to score, but we went strong for the game.

“We fought for the three points, but I think we are strong for the next match.

“I feel comfortable playing in that team.

“There is so much quality it is unbelievable, and now we need to fight together, and we have everything to do a big rest of the season.”
