Noni Madueke has claimed on the 5th stand app that he is really excited to play with new Chelsea signing Enzo Fernandez.

The pair were both brought in as part of what has turned out to be a legendary January transfer window for the club.

The ownership looked to complete a sensational mid-season rebuild after what has been an extremely underwhelming campaign so far.

They invested in stars for the future, with Andrey Santos being the highlight young addition to their first team squad.

However, they spent the most care addressing the glaring issues of a lack of goals at Stamford Bridge. They brought in Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix on a temporary basis.

Despite the quality of all of those players, a midfielder really was necessary. In the final hours of deadline day, they looked set to not be able to sign one.

However, a late breakthrough in negotiations over Fernandez eventually saw them able to secure a British transfer record signing.

Madueke has now claimed that he can’t wait to be on the pitch with their newest addition.

He said: “I watched him play at the World Cup and he has such top qualities. He’s a great player, and obviously he has proven he is a born winner. He is going to bring a winning mentality, which is priceless. I can’t wait to meet him, and get on the pitch with him!”

There is no reason why the young duo can’t make their debuts against Fulham on Friday night, where there is sure to be a good feeling about the Blues for the first time in a while.

They will be looking for revenge on their West London rivals after the defeat last month which was marred by Felix’s debut red card despite his impressive performance.
