Kepa Arrizabalaga was full of praises for Chelsea teammate Benoit Badiashile who did impressively well alongside Thiago Silva in Friday’s goalless draw with Fulham.

The Blues could not find the net despite the 20 shots they had against the west London rivals, but defensively, they have been clearly doing well.

It was their third consecutive clean sheet, and Badiashile’s arrival clearly plays a big part.

The France international made two interceptions and three recoveries in the game, and alongside Silva, was important to Chelsea’s build-up plays.

He completed seven passes into the final third, more than even Reece James and Marc Cucurella managed combined.

Arrizabalaga was clearly impressed.

“He’s a very good guy, very calm,” the goalkeeper told Chelsea TV when asked about Badiashile.

“[He’s] big quality with the ball and strong in the air.

“I think he’s [playing a great part] in the team, and hopefully we can keep doing like this.”

It is unfortunate that Badiashile had to miss out on the Champions League since clubs were only able to register three new players, but it is safe to say that Graham Potter will heavily rely on him in the remaining league matches.

While Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez may have stolen the limelight with their respective debut recently, Badiashile could prove to be the Blues’ best signing this season.
