Conor Gallagher thinks Chelsea’s Reece James is easily the strongest player at Stamford Bridge.

Gallagher, who’s new into the Blues first-team squad this season, has linked up with England for the World Cup.

Unfortunately, James is missing the tournament through injury.

James, 22, would surely have been a shoe-in for the Three Lions squad if fit.

The right wing-back has grown into one of the elite full-backs in the game, with former Chelsea player Paul Canoville even tipping him to become one of the world’s best stars.

Reece James the strongest

22-year-old Gallagher, who played with James in Chelsea’s academy for many years, thinks he’s the standout individual in terms of strength in the current Blues squad.

When asked by JD OFFICIAL the strongest player at Chelsea, Gallagher picked out James: “This is easy. There are actually a few, but just because I grew up with him and know what he’s like. He’s just a beast. He’s powerful and strong, and you can’t get the ball off him.”

It definitely seems a popular answer within the Chelsea group.

Ben Chilwell previously said James is the strongest at the Bridge without even going to the gym.

What sets James apart from most full-backs is that he’s so talented both offensively and defensively.

His quality going forward is immense, providing Chelsea with the creative spark to score goals. It’s obvious how much they miss him in this department because they look a much bigger goal threat when he plays.

Also, his pure power and aggression makes him excellent defending one-on-one situations. James has already pocketed some top wingers in his time.

It’s massively disappointing that England fans won’t get to watch him in action in Qatar, but for Chelsea supporters they’ll be excited about the prospect of having him fully fit post-World Cup.
