Ruben Loftus-Cheek has now spoken about why he decided to leave Chelsea for AC Milan.
The England international made the comments when speaking to the BBC.
So, why did Ruben Loftus-Cheek choose to depart Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the 27-year-old has now revealed that he left Chelsea because he wasn’t happy with the amount of playing time he received, nor did he feel he was being used in the right position.
Loftus-Cheek said: “I love the club and the fans but I wasn’t feeling content with the amount I was playing and the positions I was playing in.
“I felt I had more to give but I wasn’t getting the opportunity. I feel good physically and am playing some really good football. It was a good time to move on.”

Loftus-Cheek made 19 starts in the Premier League last season, operating in a defensive midfield role, as a flat central midfielder and also on the right flank.
Chelsea have received £15m from their academy graduate’s move to the San Siro.
Loftus-Cheek could have shone under Pochettino at Chelsea
In our view, Loftus-Cheek could have become a key man under Mauricio Pochettino, although we understand the reasons why he chose to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Argentine tends to love having physically dominant midfielders bossing the centre of the pitch – his best days at Tottenham came with Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama patrolling the midfield.

Loftus-Cheek is similar to how those two played in their prime, specifically Dembele, as he uses his body well to surge up the pitch, helped by his strong dribbling skills.
Unfortunately, it sounds as if Loftus-Cheek simply got tired of waiting for his chance as different managers came and went – hopefully, he can find what he’s looking for at AC Milan.
