Ally McCoist has compared Chelsea target and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to Didier Drogba.

Osimhen, who’s still only 24, is one of the most in-form attackers across Europe this season.

The Napoli centre-forward has been in golden form, scoring 23 goals in 28 games across all competitions this campaign.

His latest eye-catching performance was in last night’s 3-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, this time scoring twice to book his side a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.

He’s playing like one of the best No.9s around, which is why it’s no real surprise he’s been linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge. Journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on Twitter recently that Chelsea are one of the interested buyers to hold talks about signing Osimhen.

Ally McCoist loves Victor Osimhen

TalkSPORT pundit McCoist was blown away by Osimhen after the forward’s Champions League performance this week.

Blues supporters will be intrigued to hear the comparison made between the Napoli frontman and Drogba, who’s gone down as one of Chelsea’s greatest ever players.

“I’ve been raving about this fellow for a long, long time,” McCoist told talkSPORT

“I’m telling you he’s the real deal. I don’t usually stick my neck out, he’s the nearest I’ve seen to Drogba in a long, long time. He’s physical, he’s quick, he’s aggressive.”

Drogba was a pure brute of a striker that bullied defenders for years in the Premier League. He combined this with being a fantastic goalscorer as well, especially of big goals.

Aside from Diego Costa, Chelsea have seriously lacked a focal point in attack since Drogba’s era

We can definitely understand why Osimhen, who does possess a lot of power, may be compared to Chelsea’s iconic forward.

There is no guarantee with any striker that they will score in the Premier League, but Napoli’s ace looks more than ready to try tear it up in England.
