Shay Given thinks AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori would be a “brilliant fit” at Chelsea right now.
Tomori, who came through the academy at Chelsea, did play 27 first-team games for the Blues. However, he’s now making a big name for himself in Italy.
AC Milan signed the centre-back from Chelsea for a fee of around £30million in 2021 after previously taking him on loan.
The 24-year-old played last week during Milan’s visit to Stamford Bridge, and perhaps he’ll get to face his former club yet again when the two lock horns in the Champions League group stages on Tuesday night.

Tomori at Chelsea
Given seems to think that Chelsea made a real error by allowing Tomori to depart West London.
In fact, he suggests the England defender would even be an amazing signing for Graham Potter’s side now.
“I worked with Fikayo at Derby. I think he was our player of the season when he was there,” Given told talkSPORT.
“He has just gone on from there. He went back to Chelsea and maybe should have had more game time.
“The players who left the club, you would think had they kept on to Tomori he would have been a brilliant fit for Chelsea now.”

It’s a frustrating one, but most Chelsea fans have moved on from the Tomori sale.
He would definitely fit into this current Blues squad when you look at the player he’s become now, and many felt at the time letting him go was the wrong call.
However, it’s history now and the focus is on the existing defenders.
There’s still exciting young talent at centre-half when you consider Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah, which combines with the experience of defenders like Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta.
