Alan Shearer has raved about Chelsea star N’Golo Kante after his latest display in the Premier League at the weekend.

Kante scored his second goal of the season during the 3-0 away win against his former club Leicester City.

The 30-year-old midfielder netted the second goal of the contest in emphatic fashion, firing past goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel with his weaker left foot from the edge of the box.

Kante, who’s been nominated today for The Best FIFA Football Awards, has been outstanding in 2021 under his club manager Thomas Tuchel.

Shearer loved the way Kante “covered every blade of grass” against Leicester, which is something he’s become renowned for during his career.

“A superb goal topped off an outstanding midfield display. At the heart of everything good that Chelsea did. Won every tackle and covered every blade of grass,” Shearer said.

Chelsea can beat anyone with peak Kante

If Kante is on his A-game, opponents are in big trouble.

The Frenchman can play a box-to-box role as Chelsea’s central midfielder, while deep-lying playmaker Jorginho pulls the strings behind him sat in front of the defence.

It looks like he’s got the ability to flat out sprint for 90 minutes with his freakish stamina, and he just glides past opposition players.

Any midfield that comes up against Kante knows they’re in for a tough encounter. He’s a master at intercepting passes between the lines, as well as perfecting the timing of his tackling.

Imposible replacement

It’s horrible to think about how further down the line Chelsea go about trying to replace someone like him.

Thankfully, he’s still only aged 30.

The Frenchman is one of the most unique talents in recent years that the Blues are very fortunate to own.
