ESPN pundit claims Tuchel would not be happy with Chelsea star's forcing his exit

ESPN pundit Don Hutchison believes Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel would not be happy to hear that Romelu Lukaku’s representative has been having meetings with Inter Milan over a potential summer move.

Lukaku was meant to be the last piece of the jigsaw for Chelsea.

He returned to Stamford Bridge on a club-record deal after an impressive Serie A-winning season with Inter Milan, and looked to be the reliable goalscorer Chelsea desperately needed.

However, instead of helping Chelsea close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool, the 29-year-old struggled to even make the starting line-ups under Tuchel.

After such a disappointing year for both parties, Lukaku is reportedly keen on ending his second spell at Chelsea.

His representative, Sebastien Ledure, have reportedly been in talks with Inter over a potential return to Italy.

ESPN’s Hutchison clearly not impressed with how Lukaku handled the situation based on the reports.

“[Lukaku’s] representative has been meeting clubs in Italy. If I were Tuchel, I would be absolutely fuming to see this,” the former West Ham midfielder told ESPN FC.

“It’s up to Tuchel to say, ‘What are you doing? We’re not selling you’.

“I’m not hearing too much noise from Tuchel, so that says to me that Chelsea are quite willing [to offload Lukaku].”

ESPN journalist Gabriele Marcotti added: “I guarantee you 100 percent, if Lukaku’s representative met with other clubs, he had the thumbs up from Chelsea to do that.”

As Marcotti suggested, it is very unlikely that Chelsea were unaware if Lukaku’s lawyer really had meetings with Inter.

Tuchel’s reluctance to use Lukaku even when Kai Havertz had a rough patch towards the end of the season clearly showed that the manager is also not satisfied with the Belgium international’s performance.
