Gary Lineker praised Raheem Sterling after his man of the match performance in Chelsea’s win over Luton Town last night.
Chelsea secured their first win of the Premier League season on Friday evening by beating Luton 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Raheem Sterling, who’s certainly started the new campaign like a man reborn, scored the first two goals for the hosts. Afterwards, he turned provider to assist Nicolas Jackson’s first goal for the Blues.

Lineker posted a five-word message on social media after watching Sterling drop another dazzling display.
“Sterling on the rise again,” Lineker wrote on X.
There was a lot of talk about the positive way Sterling performed in last week’s defeat against West Ham, so a lot of people were firmly fixed on him going into Luton.
Thankfully, the 28-year-old attacker showed he’s really feeling in a confident mood right now on the pitch.
Chris Sutton noted before yesterday’s match that Sterling looks a lot happier when playing this season (BBC Sport), which we couldn’t agree more with.

Sterling’s first goal on Friday night was an absolute stunner. He showed superb close control when dribbling into a crowded penalty box before finding the composure to curl in his finish.
The Blues winger doubled his and Chelsea’s advantage in the second half with a composed right-footed effort in the box.
Incidentally, right-back Malo Gusto was the player to create both goals as that understanding continues to grow.
We’ve seen in the past Sterling’s a player that can consistently deliver double digits for goals season upon season, which would be absolutely massive for a Chelsea squad that does lack in attack.
