Danny Murphy has praised Chelsea’s Mason Mount for his recent performances under new management.
It’s been a slow start to the 2022/23 campaign by attacking midfielder Mount, who has won the club’s player of the year award in the last two seasons. The 23-year-old was struggling to find anywhere top gear during the opening weeks.
However, the England international has been reinvigorated since Graham Potter took charge last month as Chelsea’s new boss.
Thomas Tuchel really was superb for the development of Mount into a top player, but this change of management has sparked something new into him.

Mason Mount recent performances
TalkSPORT pundit Murphy has hailed Chelsea’s “terrific” attacking midfielder after his impact during Potter’s opening five games in charge.
“Every Chelsea manager that has come in since he (Mount) has been playing in the first team plays him every game,” Murphy told talkSPORT.
“He’s better than steady. He’s a terrific player. I thought it was poignant that he’s the only one who has started every game since Potter has came in.”
Mount is the only outfield Chelsea player to start all five of Potter’s games as Chelsea boss. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga matches that impressive feat, too.
It’s obvious that the new Chelsea boss has taken a liking to the English playmaker, who’s looking a real creative threat in this side right now.
His wait for a first goal this season does go on, but it shouldn’t be long before he nets given the positions he’s getting in.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang recently said he loves playing alongside Mount, which must be the same for most of his teammates.
As the Potter era takes shape, you can be sure that Mount is at the central to plans.
