Steve Sidwell has explained that he’s been really impressed by Chelsea’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang so far this season.
Chelsea decided to bring the former Arsenal striker back to the Premier League in the summer, signing him from Barcelona and giving him a two-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
The 33-year-old attacker has three goals in nine Blues appearances so far, with the goals beginning to dry up recently.
However, he’s playing regularly for Graham Potter’s side and still looks fairly sharp without being at his very best yet.

Aubameyang this season
Sidwell has admitted that the version of Aubameyang that has returned to England has surprised him. For sure, he thinks he’s been a really solid addition to Chelsea.
“He’s done well. He’s surprised me. He looks like he’s hungry. He wants to score goals. I believe in the dressing room and around the training ground he’s been top drawer with the players as well. A really astute signing there from Chelsea,” Sidwell told talkSPORT.
There were definitely a few raised eyebrows when Chelsea took a chance on Aubameyang in the summer following his previous sour exit from Arsenal.
However, he’s always been a really strong goalscorer in his career that is deadly in the penalty box.
Tony Cascarino said earlier this week that the Blues No.9 looked “off the pace” in a recent Premier League match against Manchester United.
Chelsea should be able to bank on double digits in the goal tally if he can stay fit, though.

Chelsea youngster Armando Broja, 21, is currently the understudy to Aubameyang in the centre-forward position.
It must be great experience to train alongside the proven goalscorer on a day-to-day basis to pick up tips.
Chelsea’s defence has benefited massively from senior figure Thiago Silva setting the standards at the centre-back, so it’s great to see someone at the other end of the pitch guiding the youngsters.
