Jason Cundy has suggested that Armando Broja has been a real miss for Chelsea this season.
Broja, 21, is a young talent from the Blues youth system that was properly integrated into the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge this campaign.
The centre-forward played 18 Chelsea games in the opening half of the season, albeit most of his appearances were from the bench.
However, he suffered the horrible luck of an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in December. His knee injury is expected to keep him sidelined for the rest of the 2022/23 season.

TalkSPORT pundit Cundy actually thinks a fully fit Broja could’ve been a really valuable individual for Chelsea during the second half of the season.
“Broja, a centre-forward who probably would have had an impact this season, done his ACL two days before we came back from the World Cup,” Cundy told talkSPORT.
There’s a gaping hole in the striker position right now at the Bridge, so Broja should feel his injury has robbed him of a golden opportunity to cement himself in the XI.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can’t get a look-in right now, while David Datro Fofana is still an inexperienced youngster. It does leave versatile attacker Kai Havertz, who does come in for stick from the fanbase, as the best remaining option in the centre-forward role.

In our view, Chelsea can’t afford not to invest heavily in the No.9 position in the summer transfer window.
Therefore, Broja’s path into the side is going to become a lot tougher when he’s ready to return to action.
He’s an exciting young forward with rapid pace and he’s “really strong”.
It’s going to take some real mental strength to make it to the top in Chelsea colours, but the supporters are going to be 100 per cent behind him.
