Ray Parlour was left really impressed by Denis Zakaria this week and thinks he was a real positive in Chelsea’s midfield.
It was another Premier League defeat on Thursday night for the Blues, suffering a 1-0 home loss against reigning champions Manchester City.
However, there were some individuals in Chelsea colours to come out of the game with some credit in the bank.
Zakaria, who was starting just his third Premier League game this season, really caught the eye in the centre of the park.
The all-action central midfielder completed a 90 minute performance full of energy, aggression and quality.

Parlour impressed by Zakaria
TalkSPORT pundit Parlour singled out Zakaria for big praise this week:
When discussing his performance against Man City, Parlour told talkSPORT: “The midfielder was very good. He looks a real talent. He was controlling that midfield, always wanted the ball, very much in the game.”

Fans will start rallying for Chelsea to turn Zakaria’s loan deal into a permanent one if he continues like he is going. Incidentally, Paul Canoville recently said he wants the midfield to join permanently in the summer.
The Switzerland international had to be extremely patient in the opening months of the season when he kept getting overlooked, but the on-loan Juventus star is now seizing his opportunity.
It feels like his character on the pitch is what the team needs at this moment in time to get some much-needed results.
