Julien Laurens has issued a rather troubling verdict on Benoit Badiashile ahead of his move to Chelsea.

Speaking on ESPN, Laurens delivered his verdict on the new Stamford Bridge signing, one that covered the defender’s unwanted ability to slip-up.

Badiashile is reportedly on the verge of becoming a Blue, with the Frenchman having already flown to London for his medical.

He will arrive relatively unknown to most of the Chelsea fans, a mystery that is exciting but also slightly unsettling.

Graham Potter cannot surely be certain what Todd Boehly has delivered him in the form of the young France international.

The 21-year-old remains a raw talent, despite making over 100 appearances for Monaco and being capped twice by Didier Deschamps.

Benoit Badiashile could be a problem for Chelsea

His qualities still require developing, not to mention overriding the errors that are apparently prominent in his game.

“He is young, he makes mistakes. We’ve seen it in Ligue 1, we’ve seen it with the national team,” said France football expert Laurens on Chelsea’s latest arrival.

“The last thing that Chelsea need is players coming in who makes mistakes. One for the future, really talented, good kid as well, good mind, good entourage, everything good.

“But for the problem that Chelsea have right now, I’m not sure he’s the answer.”

Potter has plenty of issues to resolve, many that revolve around attack rather than defence.

However, his side are still prone to conceding goals as well as failing to score them.

Bournemouth are the only team to have failed to ripple Chelsea’s net since Brentford drew a blank back in October.

The back-line is unbalanced, largely because of the lack of a left-footer in the pack.

This is partly the reason behind Badiashile’s arrival to even out the defensive unit.

But he will derail everything if the blunders continue to follow the centre-back around.
