TalkSPORT pundit names two Chelsea player that need replacing

'Not that consistent': TalkSPORT pundit claims there's two players Chelsea really need to replace this summer

Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Chelsea replace attackers Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech in the summer with better goalscorers.

TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor has highlighted Chelsea’s end product in the final third as a major problem for them. In fact, he thinks it’s a major factor in why they’re behind rivals Manchester City and Liverpool.

Pulisic, 23, is someone that can go from a world-beater to fairly invisible in a short space of time. The American attacker’s return of six goals in 31 appearances this season is underwhelming for someone with his talent.

Elsewhere, left-footed winger Ziyech has eight goals in 36 games across all competitions this season. He’s another Blues player that is magical when he’s in the mood, as well as providing a different kind of threat by cutting infield from the right. However, there’s still question marks over the 29-year-old performing consistently enough.

Agbonlahor has name-checked the Chelsea duo and suggested Blues manager Thomas Tuchel may need upgrades in the summer transfer window.

“Chelsea aren’t far off [Man City and Liverpool],” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

“I love [Kai] Havertz. [Mason] Mount’s done great. But Pulisic, Ziyech, they are not going to give you the numbers that [Mohamed] Salah, [Raheem] Sterling, and [Sadio] Mane are going to give you. They’re not that consistent to go for the title, so I think in the summer Tuchel has got to look at more goals.”

Constant attacking headache at Chelsea

It’s such a difficult situation to be in because just when you think one Chelsea forward is completely finished they’ll turn up and remind everyone of how good they can be. For instance, Timo Werner’s scored three goals in his last two games after really struggling most of the season.

The risk is with Pulisic and Ziyech is that you could easily imagine them doing well if they left Stamford Bridge.

It should be solely down to Tuchel on who he wants as attacking options in the squad moving forward.

The likes of Pulisic and Ziyech need really strong finishes to this campaign, with plenty of the fanbase undecided on them.
